GOALS
- To provide safe, consistent, quality training for all trainees.
- To provide a rationale for the principles commonly practiced by abseil guides and/or instructors, so that they can be appropriately applied to a variety of environments.
- To prepare trainees at industry level standard.
OBJECTIVES
- To experience teaching and guiding participants at a professional level.
- To be able to perform different rescue types according to situation.
- Recognize recreation impacts and the means to minimize those impacts.
PROGRAM EXPECTATIONS
- This fast paced program is designed for trainees who want to learn and practice technical ropeworks in a safe and controlled environment.
- Programs may be altered and/or adapted to the situation (e.g. weather, trainee involvement).
- Although the program is conducted in a well established area, we are still in the vicinity of the jungle. Participants may encounter wild plants, animals and insects that may cause harm. The recognition and management of risk is critical to the development of health and safety of our participants and staff. Do not take the jungle for granted.
- Some trainees may have been exposed to methods or techniques that might differ from our program, which is fine, but during this training, trainees are encourage to be open to the school’s methods or techniques, to create a standard training environment.
