RWE- River Walk Experience

GOALS

  1. To provide safe, consistent, quality experience for all participants.

Experience cool and refreshing river experience with our RWE program.

OBJECTIVES

  1. For newbies to experience nature in a safe manner.
  2. To become familiar with river walking, river crossing and general safety concerns during hikes near a river.
  3. Recognize recreation impacts and the means to minimize those impacts.

PROGRAM EXPECTATIONS

  • This slow relaxing paced program is designed for participants who want to experience nature in a safe and controlled environment.
  • A wet walk with some mosquitoes (initial stage), some leeches, mud, slippery ground and pure fun and adventure
  • Programs may be altered and/or adapted to the situation (e.g. weather, participant involvement).
  • Although the program is conducted in a well established hiking area, we are still in the vicinity of the jungle. Participants may encounter wild plants, animals and insects that may cause harm. The recognition and management of risk is critical to the development of health and safety of our participants and staff.
  • Some participants may have been exposed to methods or techniques that might differ from our program, which is fine, but during this program, participants are encourage to be open to the school’s methods or techniques, to create a standard training environment.
